Refund and Dispute Resolution Policy
At DevFinder, we are committed to protecting both clients and professionals using our platform. To ensure secure and fair transactions, all payments made through DevFinder are protected by an escrow system.
This policy explains how payments are handled, the conditions for refunds, how disputes are managed, and the responsibilities of each party.
1. Escrow System
When a client approves a project and submits payment:
Funds are charged immediately.
Funds are not transferred directly to the professional.
Funds are held in a secure escrow account managed by DevFinder's payment provider.
The professional can begin work with confidence.
The client benefits from payment protection until project completion.
Funds remain locked until:
The project is delivered;
The client approves the delivery; or
A dispute resolution decision is reached.
2. Release of Funds
Funds may be released under the following circumstances:
Scenario 1: Client Approval
The client confirms that the project has been completed according to the agreed project requirements.
The payment is then transferred to the professional after deduction of any applicable platform fees.
Scenario 2: Automatic Approval
If the professional delivers the project and the client remains inactive for fourteen (14) calendar days, DevFinder may consider the project delivered and accepted.
After reviewing the situation, DevFinder may release the funds to the professional.
3. Right to Request Revisions
Before accepting delivery, the client may request revisions when:
The work does not match the agreed project requirements.
Certain agreed features are missing.
Significant issues prevent normal use of the deliverable.
Revision requests must remain reasonable and within the scope of the original agreement.
Requests for new features, additional services, or major changes not included in the original project cannot be required without mutual agreement between the parties.
4. Refund Eligibility
Refunds may be requested in the following situations.
Project Not Started
A client may request cancellation when:
The professional has not started work.
No deliverables have been provided.
The professional is unresponsive.
Following verification, DevFinder may approve a full refund.
Inability to Complete the Project
A refund may be granted when:
The professional acknowledges that they cannot complete the project.
The professional abandons the project.
Both parties mutually agree to cancel the project.
Material Non-Performance
A refund may be considered when:
The deliverable is unusable.
The work delivered is substantially different from the agreed service.
Essential project obligations have not been fulfilled.
Each case will be reviewed individually.
5. Situations Generally Not Eligible for Refunds
Refunds will generally not be granted when:
The work has been delivered according to the agreed requirements.
The client changes their mind after the project has started.
The client decides not to continue their business activity.
The client refuses delivery without objective justification.
The client requests additional services not included in the original scope.
6. Dispute Process
If a disagreement arises, either party may open a dispute through their DevFinder account.
When opening a dispute:
The Client Must Provide:
A detailed description of the issue.
Supporting evidence.
Screenshots, documents, or other relevant materials.
The Professional May:
Respond to the allegations.
Submit supporting evidence.
Provide completed deliverables.
Demonstrate compliance with the agreed requirements.
During the dispute process:
Funds remain in escrow.
No payment is released.
No refund is issued.
7. Dispute Investigation
The DevFinder team may review:
Communications conducted through the platform.
Shared files and documents.
Delivered work.
The project requirements.
Agreed timelines.
Evidence submitted by both parties.
To ensure fairness, DevFinder may request additional information from either party.
8. Possible Outcomes
After reviewing the dispute, DevFinder may:
Release Funds to the Professional
When the work is determined to be substantially compliant with the agreed requirements.
